Carr Consulting engaged for Royal Perth Hospital record drawings.

In association with Perth Cadcentre, Carr Consulting has installed the recently developed ccViewer application into Royal Perth Hospital.  ccViewer is used for storage, acces and analysis of the the thousands of record drawings showing the hospital infrastructure.  Initially deployed to the Facility Management and Buildings offices, it is invisaged that the application will be ultimately available to all hospital staff

Carr Consulting engaged for ARTC project

Todd Alexander Surveyors have engaged Carr consulting to provide consulting and support for the digital survey of the ARTC freight network.

The survey using differential GPS will locate and asses some 4400km of rail track through south eastern Australia.

Carr Consulting will be providing a custom application running on Pen computers.   The application links cadcorp SIS to a Custom ccGPS interface written by Carr Consulting.

The GPS interface accepts data from any device capable of transmitting a NMEA 0183 string

Completion scheduled for the end of February.

Royal Perth Hospital signs for ccViewer

Carr consulting in association with Perth Cadcentre has been commissioned to provide an intranet application that provides access to all engineering record drawings.  The project entails the transfer of some 2000 drawings held in the legacy GDS format

Carr Consulting Provides SIS Interface to Victoria's SDMB-C

Carr Consulting has shipped the first copy of ccIUF to the City of Boroondara.  ccIUF reads Land Victoria's Incremental Update Format property database and creates ccAsset & cadcorp SIS compatable databases

The Land Victoria SDMB-C (State Digital Map Base - Cadastre) contains property, title and addressing information for the 2.3 million land parcels in Victoria

The database may be hosted on a number of platforms including MS-Access, MS-SQL Server and Oracle.  An Informix interface will shortly be available

SIS Version 5.0 announced

The Computer Aided Development Corporation has released Version 5.0 of its Spatial Information System (SIS) group of software, application development controls and world wide web server components.

This version with over 12 months of testing includes the following new or enhanced capabilities

• The main menu and system toolbars have been significantly re-designed for simplicity and clarity.
• Toolbar buttons are now drawn in the Microsoft Internet Explorer "flat" style, with a "grabber" button on the left-hand edge.
• The Session window has been renamed the Workspace window, and has had the following "tabs" added: DisplayView (equivalent to the old Session window); ThemeView (which replaces the Tools/Legend Window command); PropertyView (which replaces the Tools/Property Window command); TableView (which replaces the File/Tables... command); and LibraryView (which replaces the Tools/Preferences... Library tab). In addition, many new local commands and features have been added to the Workspace window.
• The Workspace window now supports drag-and-drop of SWD-s, NOL-s, and datasets. In addition, Map, Table and 3D windows support drag-and-drop of datasets. Datasets dragged using the right mouse offer the choice between being "inserted" or "imported".
• Support has been added for an "Intellimouse" mouse wheel. The mouse wheel zooms a Map window and the Map/Zoom/Roamer command, and scrolls the Table window and property controls.
  The middle mouse button on a three-button mouse now automatically starts the View/Pan/Drag "sticky-hand" panning command.
• Dot Density; Flow; Relief; and Topology (which replaces the "Display Topological Structure" topology option).
• The Open GIS Consortium Multi-Area, Multi-Geometry, Multi-Line and Multi-Point collection item classes have been added.
• The Plug-in Image item class has been added, which allows Plug-in Datasets and Data Sources to operate as "image servers".
• The SIS plug in interface has been enhanced to allow developers and value added resellers to add plug in exporters in addition to the plug in dataset reader.  teh plug in interface has been expanded to cater for developer designed prompting through custom dialog boxes as well as parameter checking. Datasets now include data streams from middle tier servers providing vector, three dimensional or raster imaging
• cadcorp has supplied the following plug in readers for SIS Export Dataset (SED);   MicroStation DGN; MOSS DPF and DPW; and EuroNav GXF.
• Plug-in Exporters have been added for the following formats: MapInfo Interchange Format; ArcView Shape; AutoCAD DXF and DWG; and EuroNav GXF.
• A Plug-in Data Source has been added for Oracle Spatial Cartridge (formerly known as Oracle Spatial Data Option).
• Support for Open GIS Consortium SQL92 specification for Well Known Text and Well Known Binary formats
• User defined libraries of symbology definitions can now be autoloaded as an application is started
• Enhanced search capabilities in line with the Open GIS Consortium for relationship testing
• Enhanced iso-routing functions

Boroondara City Council takes delivery of GIS browser

Carr Consulting today completed delivery of the replacement to the Victorian Schools Asset Information System.  this system stores over two Gigabytes of spatial and aspatial data in an Oracle RDBMS providing a long transaction based editing environment for spatial and aspatial data. The implementation couples the ccAsset generic editing environment with a number of custom editing utilities writting specifically for BSA. Of note is in implementation of the semi automatic plot library, enabling BSA to manage over nineteen thousand record drawings.

City of Boroondara On-line with SIS Active Server Component

The City of Boroondara ( http://www.boroondara.vic.gov.au ) today opened its Map Server.  The Map Server is a system using cadcorp's SIS Active Server Component (ASC) to provide on demand images of the City's maps.
